Hospitalization Abroad

What do I do in case I need to be admitted in a hospital abroad?

If hospitalization abroad is part of your policy coverages, simply follow these steps:
1

In case of a scheduled hospitalization abroad, and in order to find out if you can activate direct payment of the expenses at the hospital of your choice, please call the Generali Call Center at 210 8096100 or 18112. It is important that you contact us at least ten (10) days prior to your admission at the hospital.

2

If you have selected a medical institution that only accepts payments from patients, you will need to send us the following documents, signed by the Authorities and legally translated, by email at lifeclaimsretail@generali.gr, or lifeclaimsretail1@generali.gr for former ΑXΑ policies:

These are the required supporting documents:

  • A completed and signed Claim Request Form
  • A comprehensive Medical Folder including your admission and discharge details, any medical reports and opinions by attending physicians, all examinations and/or screening results as well as the hospitalization sheets and reports
  • A copy of the first page of your Bank Book or any other document displaying your IBAN

Additional documents that may be required depending on the incident include:

  • The operative report
  • The histological examination
  • The original participation certificate of another insurance provider (public or private), if any
